Professor José Gonilha Delivers Inaugural Lecture on Structural Connections
On 14 April 2026, Professor José Gonilha delivered his Inaugural Lecture at DECivil, bringing together members of the IST and CERIS communities for a well-attended and engaging session.
Under the title “The Role of Connections in Improving the Performance of Thin-Walled Structures”, the lecture addressed the impact of connection systems on the behaviour and efficiency of thin-walled and composite structures, with emphasis on beam-to-column joints and their role in structural and seismic performance.
The session fostered an engaged exchange with the audience, highlighting the interest and relevance of the topic within the research community.
