On March 22, while commemorating its 40th anniversary, the Associação Portuguesa de Análise Experimental de Tensões (APAET) distinguished three former students from CERIS. APAET is a Portuguese non-profit association dedicated to promoting experimental mechanics in the various branches of engineering.
In the 40th anniversary commemorative session, which took place at LNEC, the following researchers were distinguished with honourable mentions:
- David José Medeira Martins; with the doctoral thesis “Monotonic, cyclic and seismic behaviour of pultruded structures: from connections to full-scale frames”, supervised by Researcher José Gonilha (CERIS), and co-supervised by Professor João R. Correia (CERIS) and Professor Nuno Silvestre (idMEC);
- Inês Cruz Mina Rosa; with the doctoral thesis “Fire behaviour of concrete structures reinforced with GFRP bars”, supervised by Researcher João Firmo (CERIS), and co-supervised by Professor João R. Correia (CERIS) and Researcher Mário Arruda (CERIS);
- Beatriz Maria Martins Antunes Tavares da Silva; with the master’s dissertation “Durability of polymer composites reinforced with glass fibres produced by vacuum infusion for structural applications in civil engineering”, supervised by Professor João R. Correia (CERIS) and co-supervised by Researcher Mário Garrido (CERIS).
CERIS congratulates Doctor Inês Rosa, Doctor David Martins, Master Beatriz Silva and their supervisors for these honourable mentions, wishing them all the best.
