CERIS hosts 2nd General Assembly Meeting of the EU Horizon DISCOVER Project

Last month CERIS was pleased to host the 2nd General Assembly Meeting of the EU Horizon DISCOVER project, bringing together representatives from all 14 partner organisations across Europe.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the DISCOVER consortium to review progress, discuss key developments and define the next steps towards the project's objectives. Discussions focused on automation and robotics, life cycle assessment (LCA), life cycle costing (LCC) and digital integration for end-of-life building management.

As part of the meeting, the consortium also had the opportunity to explore Lisbon's historic sites and enjoy a dinner at Cais do Sodré. Thanks to the organisation by C5Lab, participants also visited the project's first demonstration site, where the newly developed technologies will be tested and demonstrated in a real-world environment for the first time.

Bringing together the DISCOVER consortium in Lisbon provided an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration between project partners and coordinate the next stages of development. The meeting will contribute to the delivery of innovative solutions aimed at improving deconstruction planning and the extraction and recovery of secondary assets from buildings across the EU.

The 2nd General Assembly Meeting marked another important milestone for the DISCOVER project, supporting the consortium's continued efforts towards more efficient, digitally enabled and sustainable building deconstruction practices.
