CERIS at Técnico Open Day 2026
CERIS actively participated in Técnico’s Open Day 2026, held on 18 April at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, contributing to a full day dedicated to science outreach, knowledge sharing and engagement with the wider community.
Throughout the event, CERIS was present across multiple activities, including the Science Fair, Science for Kids, Laboratory Visits, and Conversations with Scientists. These initiatives provided visitors of all ages with the opportunity to explore key topics in civil engineering and environmental research through interactive demonstrations, hands-on experiences and direct contact with researchers.
The event aimed to promote scientific literacy, inspire future generations and showcase the impact of research developed at Técnico. Visitors were able to gain insight into ongoing projects, innovative methodologies and the real-world applications of engineering research.
CERIS’s participation was made possible by the strong involvement of its community, including professors, researchers, PhD and Master students, and laboratory technicians. Their commitment and enthusiasm played a key role in delivering an engaging and informative experience, reinforcing the centre’s reputation for excellence in research and outreach.
The Open Day once again highlighted the importance of connecting science with society, fostering curiosity and encouraging dialogue between academia and the public.
