AGEO succeeds at the 2025 REGIOSTARS Awards
The 𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗢 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, coordinated by Professor Rui Carrilho Gomes, a CERIS member, achieved outstanding recognition at the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 (Inforegio – REGIOSTARS Awards), winning both the 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 and the “𝗔 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲” category.
These awards were announced during the 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 on October 15, marking the closing of the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸) in Brussels.
Held annually, EURegionsWeek is dedicated to the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 and is co-organised by the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 (𝗗𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢) and the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗖𝗼𝗥). It serves as a key platform for communication and networking, promoting cooperation, knowledge exchange, and dialogue on regional and urban challenges across Europe.
As the AGEO project coordinator, Professor Rui Carrilho Gomes represented AGEO (Ageoatlantic – Platform for Atlantic Geohazard Risk Management) in the 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, presenting the project during a live pitch session before the jury and audience.
CERIS congratulates the AGEO team for this remarkable double achievement, which highlights the project’s contribution to a more sustainable and resilient Europe.
