The launch of the book “AQUA – O uso eficiente da água nos jardins da Idade Moderna” (“AQUA – The efficient use of water in modern gardens”) took place at the Water Museum, at Barbadinhos Station, on June 29, 2023. This book is an output of a multidisciplinary project which involve the History of Science, Hydraulic Engineering and Landscape Architecture. The CERIS team, composed of Professor Dídia Covas, Laura Monteiro, João Paulo Ferreira, Miguel Capelo and Guilherme Macara prepared two chapters for the book, one on the mathematical modeling of the water supply system for the ornamental fountains in the gardens of the Palace of Queluz and the other on the experimental determination of the mechanical power of a water wheel.
