The LMC laboratory conducts high-performance computing simulations and develops mathematical models and numerical methods for solving complex problems in all civil engineering fields. The laboratory uses the most modern technologies in computational mechanics to solve interdisciplinary problems and contribute to transferring research results from the university environment to the industrial reality. To do this, commercial simulation software and internally developed codes are used to solve specific problems. LMC also deals with the administration of the computing system of the Civil Engineering Building at the IST Alameda campus, the protection of its users and the network against security threats, and technical support to its users.
