LERM – LABORATORY OF STRUCTURES AND STRENGTH OF MATERIALS

LERM is used for teaching, research & development, and consultancy in Civil and Structural Engineering. LERM has a wide range of equipment, enabling tests and studies to be undertaken in the lab or in-situ.

CONSULTANCY ACTIVITIES

  • Structural inspections in buildings, bridges and special structures
  • Assessment and diagnosis of constructive and structural damages in buildings, bridges and other structures
  • Structural Monitoring (static and dynamic / seismic)
  • In situ load testing in buildings, bridges and other structures
  • In situ testing for dynamic characterization of buildings, bridges and other constructions (Natural frequencies, modal identification, vibrations monitoring)
  • Laboratory load tests in structural components (static and cyclic)
  • Laboratory load tests for specimens mechanical characterization (tensile, compression, bending, shear, fatigue)
  • Dynamic tests on shaking table
  • Fire testing for materials and elements characterization
