ISTAR – LABORATORY OF ARCHITECTURE

ISTAR (consisting of: Bioclimatic Laboratory, Computational Laboratory) provides rapid prototyping technologies, 3d modeling, instrumentation and computerized means for evaluation of the physical performance of the built environment.

MAIN EQUIPMENT

3D PRINTER

3D Printer (Prodigy Plus, Stratasys). FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) technology. Manufactures objects in the ABS polymer. Maximum resolution: 0.1778. Volume of work: 200x200x300mm.

LASER CUTTER

Laser cutter (Universal Laser Machine X-600 Platform). Laser power: 60w. Maximum cutting area: 812 x 457 mm. Possible materials: wood, cardboard, paper, acrylic.

MILLING MACHINE WITH 3D DIGITIZER

Milling Machine with 3D digitizer (Modela MDX-40a, Roland). The milling machine works with a wide range of materials (wood and derivatives, cardboard, millboard, acrylics, light metals, soft stones). The 3D digitizer analyzes objects 4-15 mm per second with a resolution up to 0.05mm.

INFRARED CAMERA

Infrared Camera (ThermaCAM B20, FLIRSystems). Technical specifications: temperature range: -40ºC to 55ºC; spectral response: 7,5 – 13 μm; thermal sensitivity: 0,08ºC to 30ºC; precision: ±2ºC or ±2% of the absolute value of the measure.
