ViceCoordinator: Rui Micaelo

CERIS NOVA is the hub of CERIS at the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA). Created in 2022, CERIS NOVA currently has 19 PhD members and 5 PhD collaborators. The researchers of CERIS NOVA integrate four research groups of CERIS (RG1 – Hydraulics, RG4 – Transportation systems, RG5 – Studies on construction and RG6 – Structures and geotechnics) and their research addresses all the thematic strands of CERIS.

The creation of the CERIS NOVA hub brings to CERIS solid experience in research and innovation from the engineering and science school of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. FCT NOVA follows a research-oriented education practice for the current 450 students of the bachelor, master and doctoral levels in the Civil Engineering Department. Fundamental and applied research is carried out at the laboratories of the Civil Engineering department: LabCON (materials and construction), LabEST (structures), LabGEO (geotechnics) and Lab Computacional (computational).
