The title of the PhD is: “Multifunctional and eco-efficient thermal renders based on silica aerogel and natural fibres”. This is related with the growing trend to reduce the impact of the construction sector on the environment with the development and use of eco-efficient materials, enhancing the application of nanotechnology to renders and allowing to improve some properties that extend its usual field of application.
This PhD study aims to develop multifunctional thermal renders, based on silica aerogel and natural fibres, with improved thermal conductivity and mechanical resistance, allowing its application in new or rehabilitated building coatings, for greater energy efficiency.
