Architect by “Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa” (2003) and PhD by “Instituto Superior Técnico da Universidade de Lisboa” (2015).
I am researching under the subject of city interventions and urban regeneration based on my PhD thesis “Synergetic Processes for an Urban Regeneration Strategy. A Case Study: the City of Évora”. The thesis aimed to define a methodological approach to validate and assess synergetic processes and was grounded on the morphological characteristics of the place. Based on quantitative and qualitative parameters, results have shown the robustness of the proposed methodology in assessing the evolution of the interventions effects in the city and corresponding synergetic processes. The findings also pointed its applicability as a tool to analyse and evaluate future scenarios. Outcomes can be, consequently, converted in guidelines to decision making, through a methodology with the capacity to inform and generate urban regeneration strategies based on the synergetic processes.
In parallel, I’m working about ethics and deontology as a member of the “Conselho Regional de Disciplina do Sul da Ordem dos Arquitetos”.
